Sketches And Paintings From My Working Sketchbooks
This is a peek at the many paintings and sketches from my many sketchbooks.
My sketchbooks are very precious to me. They are works that I do for myself.
Even more so than my paintings, the sketches I do are images of scenes and subjects I find compelling on a very personal level. In that regard, my sketches provide insight into my particular elements of interest and intrigue.
My ‘archive’ has at least 20 sketchbooks that contain subjects drawn or painted solely because I found the subject, scene or - more likely - the quality of light attractive, interesting or compelling in some way. Some of the sketches become the basis for a more developed painting. But most serve as my record of a place or subject at a particular moment.
