Philly Style Chocolate Ice Cream

The smoothest chocolate ice cream recipe I’ve found. The addition of brown sugar and no heating seems to do the trick.

Important! Make sure all ingredients and the mixing bowl are very cold when you start!

Personally, I like to chill the freezer parts before starting as well.

INGREDIENTS

3/4 Cup cocoa powder

1/3 Cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 Cup white sugar

1 1/2 Cup Whole Milk, very cold

2 Cup Heavy Cream, very cold

2 teaspoons Real Vanilla Extract

 DIRECTIONS

NOTE : The colder the ingredients to start, the better

In a chilled bowl, whisk both sugar until well combined

Add cold milk and whisk until sugars are dissolved

Stir in cold heavy cream and vanilla 

Pour into freezer container and churn 25 - 30 minutes or until mixture is thick, soft and creamy

Transfer to airtight container and place in freezer to bring to desired firmness - at least two more hours
