"Carpenter Hill Road" - watercolor landscape painting

This work is a simple expression of a country road in winter. You could say the theme is “slipperiness”, since the road is ice, snow and rain covered. Puddles and reflections abound.
This is a studio piece composed from an en plein air watercolor sketch. The original sketch is a late fall scene. But the road takes up much of the painting. The slippery road surface is becomes activated and lively with the addition of a reflective surface.

Includes sealed backing and hanging wire installed.
This is a custom framing installation. The frame is a 2” wide cherry finish frame
