"Spring" - original watercolor painting

This is a painting done in the studio. The scene is one I’ve painted plein air several times in other seasons.
This one is mostly about capturing the soft, subtle greens that emerge in the landscape early in spring. There are many ways to create greens for landscape paintings. I find that mixtures of blues and greens work well for the rich greens of summer. In this case, a limited palette that included two rarely used colors did the trick!

Includes sealed backing and hanging wire installed.
This is a custom framing installation. The frame is 2” wide with medium red-brown cherry finish
