“King Of The Hill” - watercolor landscape painting

Painting is a quarter-sheet size - 11”h x 15”w, framed to 16” x 20”

This painting is based on a scene along Gloucesters backshore. A scraggly, spindly beach shrub clings to the edge of a rock cliff seemingly hanging on for dear life. Yet it was stil there, bent back by the winds and weather but surviving anyway. The painting makes the shrub a bit more majestic and colorful, yet still just holding onto the cliff.

Painting is included in “Eastern Edges”, an exhibit of works offering a fresh approach to the traditional New England landscape at the Bryan Gallery in Jeffersonville Vermont from July 9 through August 24, 2025.
