A winter of winters!

This is and has been the view out one of my studio windows since early December. For snow lovers, it's been best of the best. For the rest of us, not so much.

This painting is essentially en plein air but without the 'plein air'. Instead it was done from direct observation sitting in the comfort of a heated studio. But, the approach was the same as if it was painted outdoors on location, with me responding to the scene but modifying for the sake of composition, balance and content.
