Golden Hour Light On The Landscape
$235.00

ONLINE CLASS : 4 weeks, - Mondays, August 3 - August 24, 2026

Artists often comment on “The Golden Hour” as the most magical time of day. This brief period happens shortly after sunrise andshortly before sunset, when the sunlight casts a warm, golden hue that transforms ordinary scenes into extraordinary moments.

This class shows how to capture the golden hour in your paintings. The focus is on golden light and the color combinations and mixtures that work best.

Capturing light has its own challenges. We’ll address those in class as well.

Our subjects will be landscape scenes in autumn and winter, seasons when the golden hour light seems more frequent and accessible.

The class has a special emphasis on the quality and character of winter light and shadows on snow.

Online Still Life Atelier
$235.00

Four Week Class - October 26 - November 16, 2026

Artists have ‘posed’ ordinary household objects into still life set ups for centuries. The purpose was to study composition ideas while learning how light, form, transparency and reflection affect color and color perception.

This class takes the idea and turns it into an online atelier where we’ll paint together from a “live” still life set up. Like the multitudes before us, we’ll learn how to capture the sense of ordinary still life with color, and creating dynamic compositions at the same time.

Sounds complicated? Not when you learn to simplify and focus on essence! We’ll learn to do both in this unique class!

The class will show you how create vignettes and strengthen your approach to two-dimensional design.

All class sessions are recorded.
