The antique silver frame nicely sets off the cool neutrals and cool light in the painting.
This is a ‘from the front seat’ painting done on a quiet winter morning.
Being an early riser, I am often up early enough to catch sunrise in all seasons. Later sunrises in winter make it easier.
By the time I was set up and ready, the sun was about to peek over the eastern mountains. There was just enough light to lift twilight from the landscape, leaving behind a soft quietness.
